Hi,

We are looking to visit the above site in the Loire Valley next year. Looks lovely and all reviews are fantastic.

Wonder if anyone can advise what the local area is like...is their pubs/restuarants within walking distance?

We stayed on this site last June.  Only meant to stay 2 nights - stayed for 12!  There are no pubs/restaurants within WALKING distance - unless you're a long distance walker - BUT Stu and Syb, the site owners, arrange a dinner (for E10 a head) twice a week outside their farmhouse where everybody gets to know everybody else and there is much laughter, wine drinking, eating and merriment.  Not that it would disturb any campers who didn't want to join in.   

The site is surrounded by farm land and quiet country roads - perfect for a gentle stroll or bike ride.  I am sure Stu will be on here later to tell you all about it. I believe there is a restaurant in the next village but we didn't go there.  Some of the other campers did and said it was very good.

thanks for the kind comments about our place. We think it's pretty nice too! Yes, there are pubs/restaurants locally. They're a good walk away, better by car or by bike though. Drop us a line & we'll tell you more! The one in the village is just the most fantastic place to eat! They've just done the catering for a wedding we've held here last week. Armadillo will be able to tell you all about the food as she and Tim ate most of it!!!

I had a tiny plateful actuaaallly! (only because we were already stuffed from dinner!!)it was them greedy bu**ers next to us!! lol

and yes it was fantastic grub - almost as good as syb's chilli

what a brill setting for a wedding...do you do anniversarys too?! well we might need an excuse!!

i tried to get on this site this year and they were fully booked so dont take too long making up your mind.

im going to book mark it for the future.

Can anyone tell me if I am able to get a flight from either Manchester, Birmingham or Cardiff to Tours?

Ryanair do daily flights from Stanstead to Tours, that's the only UK departure airport for Tours I'm afraid. You can get to Angers from Southampton (30 mins from us), or to Nantes from EMA (an hour and a half from us).

I'm so excited! We've just booked for 2 weeks next summer!!

As some of you may have read, I was originally looking for someplace near to Disneyland Paris, but none of the campsites nearby did much for me (I like small, quiet sites but with a pool for the kids).

Stumbled across this campsite by accident (well, this listing actually!) and realised I had found 'The One' immediately. I am ashamed to admit that I had previously by-passed it because the listing stated just 8 pitches, so I hadn't even gotten past the front page! Boy am I glad I saw this post!
