We have decided on La Palombiere Sarlat, Dordogne for our holidays next August and we now need to find a stop over for one night on route. We are taking a trailer tent and would prefer not to set it up just for one night so we are looking at maybe a cheap B&B or travel lodge type accomodation. We will be driving from either Dieppe or Calais as not decided on which ferry yet but we are happy to drive 250-300 miles before stopping.

Have a look here and you will find all the French hotel chains. Rouen is a good halfway point to Sarlat and you will find most of the chains have a hotel here. I have used Etap, Hotel B&B and Kyriad and they are all good.

Hi

It's worth looking out for special offers on the web, this year we used the Campanile chain, they were doing a special offer 80 euros for 2 rooms, breakfast was extra but not over charged esp. as the buffet was so extensive we managed to get lunch out of it also!  We stayed in Deauville but they are all over France.

We went to Dordogne this year and stopped off at a B&B Hotel in Orleans. Basic, clean, cheap (56 Euro for a family room), and has secure parking.
They are all over France and can be booked on the tinternet.

Hi Karende

We have Timber Tents on our campsite which would be ideal for your stopover, they sleep up to 4 and are fully equipped.

Full details are on our homepage (link above).

Feel free to have a look at customer reviews here on UKCS:- http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=5166

Spanish Eyes, I would check that your folding camper will fit in the car park as the bays are only the length of a car, I had to unhitch my trailer and place it sideways in front of my car for it to fit.The car park is locked by a barrier at night but someone lifted my tarp, on my trailer throught the night,luckilly I had an alarm fitted so nothing taken.

Hi Karende

We should have got it, but try emailing direct on;

stuart.may at theloirevalley.com

That should be an at sign where 'at' is...
