Thanks Jennifer. So far I like the look of:
www.camping-badenweiler.de
www.kleinenzhof.de
or the French one above. I'm going to contact them to find out what size pitch they can offer and take it from there. We want at least 100m2, preferably 120 or 130m2.

Amanda,
We are also looking for a site in your area. Having been before we want to return next year as it is really beautiful. We stayed at Kirkzarten in 1998 I think. We were disappointed with the pitches.........they weren't really marked and everyone was on top of eachother which was a shame as the site was quite nice. Campers have the use of the public pool which is next door to the site and I have to say it is probably the best pool I have ever seen. I have e-mailed Campingplatz Herbolzheim as it looks as though their pitches are of a reasonable size. This site is around 20 miles north of Freiburg and only 3 miles from Europa Park. Let me know if you find anything with good-sized pitches.
Stayed at Campingplatz Herbholzheim this summer (August). Nice site with really good facilities. The pitches are not huge by French standards but we found it adequate for our Conway Cruiser FC with awning. Public pool next door is excellent and very cheap. Great location for both the Schwarzwald and also for visiting France.Very good restaurant on site open early in the evening if you have kids.
Owners were very friendly and like to keep the site looking nice. They do not take kindly to noisy people and those that cant behave!!
All in all a good site. Only thing to knock it was the amount of one nighters that there were. Forever getting up at sparrows fart to head off home. Lots of Dutch on site, some English and some German. Eurocamp use this site but it is not dominated by them.
All in all a good base for a holiday in the area. Warning, when it rains by God it rains but this is the same for the whole Schwarzwald area.
Steve
------------- Relax. You can do too much too soon.

Try this http://www.eurocampings.co.uk/en/
We found thisreally usefull this year when we toured Germany swiss, holland and luxenbourg and belgium oh and france in our motorhome.
My advice for the black forrest is this. Campsites in germany are not of the standard of the UK. They are without a doubt worse. Although cheaper. If you go to the black forerest the only place I would really recomend is triburg. A real beautiful part of Germany. Although my opininon of Germany itself is as follows. A really nice clean country, but unfortunately I did not meet more than a couple of decent German people. I tried along with my family to go with a very open opinion as regard the GERMANS. We put the thoughts of war and the disasters concerning penalty shootouts behind us and really attempted to get along. Unfortunately the German people (mainly the older ones) did not feel the way when they knew we were English. Arogant and ignorant are to polite a words to use to describe some of the people we met.
Having said the above the country itself is really nice. I have made a few visits through work and play over the years and cant help noticing the beauty of the country.
If you want a really nice place to tie in to your holliday with the most gorgeous scenery and architecture and the most wonderful of people try stopping off in Luxenbourg, Truly IMO the most beautifull country in Europe,
