------------- look all over the uk and spain if the sun is out so are we.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
A word of warning do not stop overnight on a portugese motorway You are only allowed 12 hrs on the motorway and if you are any longer they impose a hefty fine

We left the UK in May and have been working our way through France,Italy and now Spain. We are currently nr Cadiz where we will stay until 9th January. Really good site in Puerto de Santa Maria called Camping Playa des Dunas, very clean and right on the beach, only a short walk into the town with all amenities. Theboat to Cadiz is 4 euros returnas it's only 5km away via the water!
If you are doing Gibraltar beware, the site in La Linea is currently closed for refurbishment and the site in San Roque (both in Caravan Club's Caravan Europe 1 2006 book) is horrid!!! We pulled on the site and quickly pulled back off!!! We stayed in Tarifa and got the bus in to Gibraltar (only 3,49 euros per person each way). We had been advised not to leave the motorhome in the parking area at La Linea due to the high number of thefts from vehicles.
Can't advise on Portugal as we won't be there until January!!!
Have fun and enjoy, we certainly are.Merry Christmas wherever you may be!!!
Hi Camping hotel regio is open all year at salamanca, you also get a good meal in the hotel at reduced price. I have camped there in the winter overnight, but can be very cold that time of year. On your route to Portugal Camping Orbitur at Evora is worth a stop, ask to join the Orbitor club, if you are a member you get up to 15% off al Orbitur site fees. It' free to join for pensioners.
Wouldn't advise stopping at any airs pay your nights fees at a site. Just this year five vans pulled on to our site all of whom had been robbed.Just remember it can happen to you, why ruin your hols for the sake of 15 euros.
