If you stay at the Camping Orbitur in Quartereira make sure you have a second E/L lead as some hook-up points are a fair way away. The site is very convenient for the town, weekly market and promenade. the facilities were a bit basic, this a couple of years ago. Enquire about joining the Orbitur club, it attracts a discount.
Whilst travelling down through Spain we encountred many Dutch caravanners who were heading for Monte Gordo, on the Spanish/Portugues border, now the Dutch have an eye for bargains but the write-up in the Caravan Club bible does not paint that good a picture, but who knows you have to bear in mind the info is dated and it is only a reflection of those willing to report.

Hi Yorkslee,
By Gum your site is rather isolated, I would think you would need all the 16amp power to keep warm in the winter, but I should imagine it is a very scenic location. Your site is more a spring/summer/autumn destination, perhaps more summer when you look at the showers shown on the web site.
May I wish you well in your venture

Hi Hymerman,
Yeah it's a stunning and scenic location, i was down there last week doing the completion and it was still t-shirt weather but we all know how the weather can change so quickly, but we can all but try, and if youre ever down this way please call in.
Regards
Yorkslee

We visited Monte Gordo earlier this year yes it is cheap about 9 euros a night but
Toilet blocks were ancient, dirty and smelly, the whole site had an uncared for feel it looked more like a transit camp We did not stay and moved on to Camping Albufera yes 15 euros a night but clean well loooked after good bar and restaurant

Yes "Camping Albufiera" is a good one, only trouble is that it is not convenient for a walk in to town, in fact the road is a bit dangerous. I believe I did read somewhere that a bus was now available, but maybe this is just the summer?
