Hi Pixie
if you think you have a large amount of gear, it will be nothing to what you will see in Italy especially on the Adriatic Coast.
One year we camped in Rimini and the first morning a small car and camper arrived and started to set up their camp.
They positioned the caravan in the middle of 2 pitches which they had obvoiusly booked.
Then up went a full awning and then a sun canopy. leaving an area fully carpeted for a dining table for 5 grownups and 6 children.
The back window was opened and 2 yes 2 Fridges or freezers were humped out and placed in the awning. and a couple of tents for the children etc.
The outdoor cooker and Barbeque was next..
the windbreaks were put around and the lights were installed and the site looked marvellous
Both cars then disappeared and 2 Hours later they came back with many many bottles of water and vino, plus vegatables and groceries of all kind.
My son and his friend had pitched our Vango MKv tents on our pitch and we thought that we were in for a week of noisy people, and how wrong we were. After we got talking to them in our pidgeon Italian our 2 boys were presented with an italian breakfast by the grandmother who appeared not to leave the site never mind the campsite.
This holiday will be in my mind forever and the friendship and hospitality we received from all the Italians (once they knew we were from the UK.) I later gleaned that they came every year for the month of August.
So GoGoGo and have no preconceived ideas what you will see on the way, when you get therre and when you travel home
I have now been to Italy virually every year since the early 70s and still I have seen nothing.
------------- Camping,Digital Photography and Computers go well together
