Has anyone used the rosslare-cherbourg route with celtic link ferries ?

I'm trying to find info on the cabins.  I have a fussy lot, and need to book an outside cabin, but cant find anyhting on their site about the cabins, just that they have both inner & outer types.

Hi Declang, Why not give CF a ring, we've always found them to be very helpful with any queries.  When I checked their prices a couple of weeks ago they were, surprisingly, dearer than Irish Ferries!.  Their 2007 prices had only just be published so maybe there was a mistake - hope so!

I looked at Celtic last year, but think I read somewhere that they are primarily a Cargo type outfit, with limited extra facilities

I have used both Brittany Ferries & Irish Ferries, and would recommend Brittany as the best, the ship is lovely, and more hotel like that anything else.

Prices seemed to be a little better with Brittany too. Its nice to arrive at 7am and have whole day to travel whereever you are going.

Just booked a crossing for Easter with Brittany Ferries!

It looking more and more like I won't travel with them.  I'm still researching ferries & journey times from Ireland to UK and on to France.

I;ve also used irishferries and brittany ferries in the past 2 years.  The brittany ship was very impressive, and we splashed out on a great cabin coming back. Fantastic !

Just wondering if anyone had anything more to add about experiences with Celtic Link ? I've used Irish Ferries a lot in the past, though the last time 2 of the 4 engines stopped and we were 12 hours late in arriving - total journey 29 hours !!!!!

I haven't used Brittany Ferries, mainly because they were always more expensive than IF - but also because Cork is a huge drive from the North compared to Rosslare, which can be done in a day with the new motorway.

It would be nice if there were a good alternative to Irish Ferries - it might put a cap on the outrageous fares they charge over the Summer !
