I`ve been there twice and plan to go again. Very well run site, nice clean facilities, very helpful staff, nice big pool with flume pool, mail pool and kiddy pool, , kids club, good playpark, little shop, bar, good bar food and takeaway, some really good local flavour entertainment in the evening. Pitches are a decent size too and most are flat.It does sound as if it should be a very busy, commercial site but certainly when we`ve been there in late July it`s still felt very uncrowded.
The nearest town, Dol, is small but has a beautiful medieval centre, and the bay of Mont St Michael is stunning. Dol market is excellent too, and there`s a very cheap internet cafe if you want one. There are at least two big supermarkets on the road out from Dol towards the campsite.
I was with my Hubby and two kids the last two times I`ve been and my kids are desperate to go there again. (I`m game too, but Hubby wants to find a good snorkling area.) In 2008 I`ll be taking the kids out to France on my own for two weeks before Hubby comes out and I`m intending to go to La Vieux Chene for that fortnight. It`s a safe, comfortable, well run campsite.
