Hi all..

We have got the camper booked for a late June crossing.. it is our first time with a campervan..    now question is where to go please??????

We are looking to camp near to some good surf beaches down on the Atlantic Coast.. not resorts.. as we prefer it quiet these days!

Anyone know some good spots??

Lacaneau has always been a fave of mine - watch out for the undertow it can very powerful. You can sometimes hear the break 2k from the sea!

If you can handle Downend Point at Croyde when its working then you're ready for Lacaneau

this is a handy site for some ideas - http://www.wannasurf.com/index.html - but do you really need them? If you are a windsurfer or kite-surfer then its nice to know where you are going

Surfers don't have these problems to the same degree. If you see a nice break, then on with the wetsuit, grab your board and off you go.

always gone deep down south, toward messanges, south west from bordeux. Excelent surf, best early september for good breaks throughout the day.  quiet, with enough people around in case you get caught out by the undercurrents. lots of good direct beach access sites.

Great sunsets and lovely views, clean beaches, and normaly good weather. Cant wait for this years trip. however it's a good body board for me nowdays.

We have stayed in the Cote Sauvage area the last two years and the surf has been excellent!

my brother in law lives in france and chose where he is cause of the surf ( this is a man who comes from Croyde Bay, Devon) they are near a small town called Avrille which is in the Vendee and he said there is a fab campsite only 200 meters from the beach that has the best surf around, here is the link if you want it:

I am a bit of a novice.. but want to have some fun.

I was down in Cornwall last summer.. the surf was awsome.. I hope France will be even better!
