If anyone is intending to travel to France and is looking for some excellent road maps, try this site www.ign.fr It is a French government site, with an English version, where you can buy road maps, regional maps and town maps, and all excellently priced. I just been on there and bought some, 5 maps for less than £20.

The Top25 Series Bleu 1:25000 scale are great for exploring on foot - I was thinking about getting the orange 1:100,000 scale one for Tarn this year, but will probably buy from le supermarche . I suspect some of this series are't updated very frequently, I can check if they're up to date before buying.
I always save my map buying until I get to France. I can usually find the IGN maps that I want in the local hyper/supermarket and they are cheaper than buying over here.
I did realise you could buy them in France, but thought they might be useful for people who want to plan routes, or see areas they visiting, in advance

Do the maps you have purchased refer to campsites ? do they have a symbol in each town that has a campsite. Re my message on this forum the Michelin Atlas have now for the first time to my knowledge dropped putting the little black triangle on indicating a site.
I am sure they are only road maps, but I got a free folding road map off a site called www.campingqualite.com that lists and shows the positions of 875 camp sites spread all over France.
