Hi - Armor Heol is a great site for young families. The pool area has a toddler pool, and if they're feeling brave there are two flumes which my lot still talk about 15 months later.
The bar/restaurant is right by the pool, and this hosts the (sometimes bizarre) evening entertainment. The staff were (Aug 07) very friendly and most spoke OK English. We stayed in our own tent, so I can't comment on the statics, but pitches were a good size and had some shade.
The town of Piriac-sur-Mer is a real gem, and about 20 mins walk from the site. Trust me, it's do-able with young kids! There's a very pretty marina, bars, restaurants, cafes, old twisty lanes and lots of nice shops (not too tacky either).
We went to one of the beaches nearby, which was OK, but to be honest the pool area was more fun! Further afield, there's the Oceanarium in Le Croisic (about 1hrs drive) which has the best shark tank I've ever seen.
I can't find many faults with Armor Heol, except there's no on-site shop, which meant many trips to the supermarket in town.
FYI, thjs summer we went further down the coast to La Rive, near Biscarrose. Let me know if you want info on this site!
