No you do not need to book 'cos they are usually just a tap and waste dump place.  If they are big places like Erquy then you'll spend all night worrying about having another van so close to you. You are packed in tighter than a Tesco carpark. I'd hate to think what could happen if a van went "pop"

Aires are usually just for dumping refuse and waste then you scuttle off and wild camp somewhere. Good though because you can have a stinking cheap holiday that way

well from what i know, you can park overnight in most places. but dont be silly with it, off road, car park, lorry park. they let you stop in most places if its just an overnight stop. just spend a bit in the local area and tell them you are stopping for the night. hope that helps.
