I am looking at this site as a possibilty for our holidays in June.

Has anyone any comments bearing in mind the OH is often confined to a wheelchair and I like my fishing.

We stayed there a few years ago and found it a very nice site. It is run by a charity. The site is level so you should not have any probs with a wheelchair. Another forum went there as an overseas rally and they are going back this year so they like it!!! Brissac has a lovely Chateau.

Stayed there last May, outbound to the Atlantic coast and ended up staying a week instead of just overnight. Also used it on the way back. Clean, well run, excellent facilities and the pitches, fishing lake etc are all pretty much at the same level. The only caveat wheelchair-wise is that the site roads and paths are not tarmac but hard-packed gravel (IIRC).

>if you stayed a week it must be ok<

Well, we thought so :) We enjoyed exploring that area of the Loire - lots of interesting villages and good walks. Also had a very pleasant day in Angers - can recommend the Brasserie du Theatre for an excellent lunch (as the name implies, it is opposite the theatre in a central square, whose name escapes me). If you not already discovered the site's web page, go to:-
http://www.campingetang.com/en/index.html (it is in English).

Yes, had a look at their site and like what I saw, will probably go there using ACSI card.

Do you think it is necessary to book for June.

If you have decided that this particular site is what you want, then booking may well be for the best. Having said that, when we stopped overnight on our return journey, it was the 6th June and the majority of pitches were empty.

As the old saying goes "yer pays yer money (or not) and takes yer chances."

We stayed at this site last year in June. We didnt book , we never book in a site just in case we pick a bad one. Would reccommend this site.It was spotless clean and friendly. we arrived for two nights and stayed 10. would go back, half the pitches where emptyand it was the end of June. The weather was quite hot.

PS lovely village.

Nemo £3.50 was to request to be pitched together (not a booking fee) and it was not guaranteed. When you book on their website they allow you to request things like , in shad , in sunshine , quiet pitch etc etc for this they charge £3.50 per request and as said they do not guarantee you will get your options .
