We plan to drive down to Rome from Calais in late May in our motorhome. Any ideas about best routes, sites etc would be appreciated.

Surely "All roads lead to Rome"! , I know this is not what you want, but it does remove the blueface!

We were in Rome in 2003, but we approached it from the south, having gone down the east coast as far as Bari, and returned via Naples.

We stayed at Camping Happy which is south of Rome.  Heading north we went to Pisa and then Milan before departing via Switzerland.  However we were heading for Rotterdam.
