Hi Allydog, Mind if I join you in this thread as I am also looking to find sites in Germany, I am intending to tour up on the Baltic coast in Nord freisland and then to travel down through Germany to Luxemburg, so any help would be appreciated from fellow members.
Have a look on Eurocamp and Keycamp for sites that might suit your needs. Then go to the websites and book direct.A number of mainland Europe campsites have reviews on tripadvisor.com.
Hi Markus, there was a good site not far from you where we stayed a few years ago, Neckargemunde - right on the river - spend a few great days watching the barges go by.
We also sent a few weeks exploring the area by the Rhine, had a great time, loved the local wine.

But itīs all right now, I learned my lesson well.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
markus - definitely coming back - just not sure when.
I spent some time youth hostelling and hitch-hiking in Germany many years ago, and learned quite a lot of German - spoken only not a clue about grammar. I acquired a taste for German wine then - you keep the good stuff to yourselves [quite right too] Still have a taste for the wine - but have forgotten most of the language.
Thanks for the invite, hopefully we can enjoy a glass of wine by the river someday.
