Cello 16 inch with dvd and Freeview has done us well for a good few years now, it has low wattage and can be used as a tuner in most if not all European countries, so for example it will pick up French tv in France as long as you tell it you're in France. Minus point, the sound is bad however you can connect an external speaker via the headphone socket. It also has aerial, satellite and hdmi inputs.

We have a small Sharp TV with built in DVD player for the caravan. We got it from a supermarket (can’t remember which one) but it was not expensive and it does great for our purpose. We don’t watch a massive amount of TV while we are away but we like to have it for rainy evenings so we didn’t want to spend a fortune. You really don’t need a fancy caravan TV like an Avtex unless you are going to be off grid and need something that runs off 12v. A standard TV is fine if you are hooked up to electric.

Another vote for Cello.
We go off-grid for the vast majority of our trips and it's given us good service.
As Pixie says though if your always on EHU then any set will do.

Any cheap one really with a DVD built in, issue is not the TV but the ariel system, and pointing antenna in right direction of TV signal.

I used to use a mast and simple tv ariel, and never had any issues now got a roof mounted tv ariel on van, and tuning is a little more difficult.

But othwrwise all okay.

We use a satellite dish and 32" TV. I do have problems with sites not understanding how it works. "The transmitter is just over there" and suchlike.

We have an Avtex which came with our previous Bailey Vigo. It was kept when we part exchanged to current one as you don't get them now!
It has a dvd player built in. It works fine.
All our tvs have FRC .( Football Rejection Circuit).

We currently have a Median from Aldi - but not seen any for sale for quite a while. we also use it to tune in to TV when we are in France. However I am looking for a new second set for home and have spotted the Cello models and chosen carefully they will do the job... have a look at Richer Sounds.

another vote for small cello, good picture good sound and cheap as chips.
Tried the expensive ones    not impressed

Its a very open question. If you will always are on a site with hook-up then any 230v TV will do. Although I would add that if you value the quality of the picture it probably pays to go for one of the better known brands as you would if buying your main television. If you are going to need to use 12v the Avtex is the best but there are other brands almost as good and cheaper.

From personal experience, I would say avoid avtex. We have one. As. I have mentioned on previous occasion, I do not like any of the preset picture settings. Agreed there is a facility to adjust to your own liking, but the adjustment menu almost completely obliterates the picture, so you can not see what your adjustments are doing.
When at one of the caravan shows, I raised this with them and they got quite “upset” with me. Perhaps realising I had hit on a weakness with there programming.
The other problem I find is playing a dvd in 4:3 aspect. Seems almost impossible to play without distortion.

Hence my comment, avoid avtex, it has proved an expensive mistake.

Of course, if any others have found ways around these problems, I would love to hear from you.

I find the colour a bit too rich on ours,I have managed to adjust it in the settings but it is a fiddle.
They used to come with the Bailey Unicorns hence us having one. I had 2 but sold the other.
The dealers didn't expect them back on part exchange! They did get jack,tools and wheel locks etc.

We use a 24" Cello TV, relatively cheap and also comes with the 12v power supply, never had any issues with it

Got a cheap 19" DVD Tv from Argos, Mains only, no 12 volt, but good when on hook up and works great with the Eco Flow box for a few hours when in the wilds.
