I disconnected the battery from the charger and proceeded to take it to the storage site (Rain free) Wup Wup . Opened the Caravan door only to find green mould on walls and surfaces. In my 40+ years of caravanning this has never happened to me. Clearly I need to get it home to clear it out in preparation to clean it.
However, I need some advice on what chemicals to use.
I understand that I need need to avoid bleach based chemicals.
Your advice would be much appreciated.
Regards

Tips to use vinegar for mould:

White vinegar is a mild acid that can kill around 82% of mould species.
It is still better to wear protective gloves and glasses before using vinegar because vinegar when exposed to the skin may cause irritation and stinging sensation in a few people.
Put the vinegar in a spray bottle without watering it down.
Spray the vinegar generously onto the mouldy surface and let it sit for around an hour.
After an hour, wipe the area clean using water and allow the surface to dry.
Repeat this process after a few days to ensure a mould-free surface.

yes it needs to be watered down but that depends on how bad the mould is, so its guess work really.

yes there is a smell, not too bad using white vinegar but a couple of hours ventilation and it soon goes, its household cleaner for many women, its cheap (35p in aldi) and most men dont know its been used at home.

Remember that breathing in mould spores could affect your respiratory system so wear a mask.

I spoke to Fenwicks yesterday. I spoke to his son as I didn't realise his Dad had died a few years ago. He suggests I get a small hand sprayer and put a few capfuls of the Fenwick's caravan cleaner (i have some of the cleaner in the garage) in the sprayer. Spray on affected area, leave a few minutes and wipe off.
I will try this when it stops bloody raining, and will try the vinegar at the same time but concerned about the smell.

It must be the warmish but awfully wet weather we have been having.
Our patio was green and part our conservatory roof.
Pressure washer sorted the patio. Algone solution sprayed on roof worked well.

dont worry about the smell, its not bad at all and what there is goes in a very short while. white vinegar is nothing like using the one on your chips! its already used in many cleaning products but professional cleaners will use it neat esp in bathrooms and kitchens as its great for cutting thr grease and it also has anti bacterial qualities to it as welll
