We recently bought one like this although it was only £160 in Currys.  It is both a monitor and a TV and it is superb.  We have no complaints whatsoever the picture is clear and bright, the colours excellent and sound more than adequate for the van with no distortion.

Not cheap but does everything we want in one package, TV, Freeview, Photo Cards, radio and a connection slot for all things including a PC.

We have just bought a LCD from Asda - £129 (can work as a monitor for PC) plus £17.74 for a DVD player.

We have been looking for one for a while.Eventually settled for a Sony 15'' with built in Freeview. £237 at John Lewis.Cheaper than Comet and others.It isn't 12v though.

We recently bought one of these from Tesco

Its got a built in DVD so only takes up one powerpoint.

It works a treat, is simple to use and is excellent in conjunction with a Freeview box in most areas that we have travelled to.

We paid £164 using a special offer £5 off voucher and got triple Tesco points too !!

Its very light & travels in its box strapped into the wardrobe so theres no bouncing about when travelling.

Forgot to mention the Sony from John Lewis comes with a 5 year parts and labour guarantee.That's one of the things that sold it to us.There are some good buys about and it's personal choice.One of the other things we were looking for was sound quality as well as picture quality. Some of the smaller screen LCD TVs had poor sound quality.When having a look turn up the sound and listen. Some of them sounded 'tinny' if you know what I mean.

I've just ordered one of these from Skyblue to keep it in.  Less bulky and not so obvious than the box it came in
