Given the number of negative threads regarding caravan dealers, I thought it would be a good idea to post a positive one for a change. I have just collected my new Swift Charisma 555 from White Arches in Rushden and the whole thing was handled so well by them. From our first visit to the actaul collection they couldnt have been more helpfull. The salesman we dealt with was attentive without being "pushy" and spent a lot of time answering our questions. The deal we got was quite staggering and we couldnt have bought a decent secondhand van any cheaper. The handover was seamless and culminated in my wife being given a huge bunch of flowers which pleased her no end. So a big thanks and 10 out of 10 ti White Arches

We have friends in Desborough and when we visit them we nearly always pay a visit to White Arches. They have a good accessory shop and cafe and have plenty of nice vans to look at. Our friends bought their van from them and have been very pleased. (not a brand new one)

Thats good to hear as we are seriously considering buying the new ranger from them. We visited yesterday and they were very good to us, answering our questions but not pushing us to buy right now. I'd love to hear what their after sales is like?
We bought our caravan from the Caravan Centre at Finedon near Wellingborough, and they were also very good, it's quite near White Arches so easy enough to visit both for comparison. We got a very good deal as well.
Providing their after sales is just as good then a well deserved 10 out of 10, I think most of the issues arrive after the van has left the forecourt, not before.
Ali, you hear so many stories of bad after sales service don't you? If i'm going to be spending that much money i hope that i won't be having problems but it would be nice to know that if there are any problems my dealer will do everything he can to put it right.
We are currently buying a van from Campbells in Lostock Hall, Preston. I was told to bring the trailer tent (part ex) in yesterday, the rep said he would be there to take TT in and go through the inspection with me. First off he was on a day off and there was a bloke behind me with a part ex caravan who had been told the same thing. The inspection took 10 mins but i was waiting around for 1 hour 20 mins, while the guy doing it kept getting side tracked with other issues. They then knocked me down £150 on the trade in because of a tiny hole in the canvas, which must have been done when i put it away last time.
This whole process made me feel uneasy and was very disorganised to say the least. This is our first van and i am very nervous about it, because of this i am now extremely nervous about it.

I cannot stand it when sales people allow themselves to keep being sidetracked while serving me. All they have to say is that they are tied up just at the moment and will deal with the other party when they're free.
Its nice to hear good news, we have bought three caravans from Salop Caravans at Cosford and always found them to be very helpful, nothing seems to be a problem, really pleasant staff.
You get a very thorough handover when you collect and the van was spotless.
Which why I recommended them to a very good mate who has also purchased from them! He said he was well looked after!

My parents had their vans from the Cosford branch (now have a static) and were very well looked after and never had a problem with new or second hand vans from there.
We got ours from Discover in Cannock and they really looked after us, 1st class service!
Hello Vic we bought our caravan from Campbell's at Lostock Hall just before xmas 08 after spending 3 month's looking for the "right" van. We found them very helpful and the pre delivery inspection was very thorough. However we did find a small fault on our new van and after a phone call to the dealer the problem was sorted out immediatley. We have continued to go back to Campbell's for accesories advice etc. I must say though that our's was an outright sale we did'nt want to trade our old van in on account of giving it to a relative.
When you find a good dealer its hard not to go back to them, we always found Highbridge caravans very good when we lived in that part of the country, we moved up to lincs a few years ago so we looked around up here when we wanted to change, but in the end we went back to Highbridge as we got a better deal and we have been well pleased with the service even though we are a long way from them.

What on earth is wrong with that?
I agree with every thing you said & to me its called ignorance. What i don't like is when you have struck a deal with one member of staff that you have been getting on with & start trusting. They then pass you onto someone else to finalize the deal & these try the hard sell of warranties/finance. This gets on my wick. even when you have said no. i am paying cash. they keep going on & on
