This is our first full year of caravanning and wondered if people steralize their aquaroll the first time out in the season. Being a Scouter, we always steralize our water carriers etc before we use them the first time each year.

Fill it with sterilising fluid, leave it long enough to sterilise the aquaroll, then draw some through the caravan's water system and let it work there too . Then rinse everything with lots of fresh water (have a look at my post in the 'Drinking water' thread for fully details of how I sterilise our system each year). I'm doing ours next week, before our first trip this year.

Yes, I use Puraclean which is available from caravan shops. Plonk some in the aquaroll, draw it through into all the taps and leave it for a couple of hours, then draw through fresh water to flush out.
I usually then change the cylindrical filter too, they are about £9 but can harbour gribblies.
Milton is good (or any proprietary baby bottle stuff e.g. Boots) or you can buy special stuff called Puriclean from your local caravan or motorhome dealer.

I know I should, but I never do. Once, on a first trip I didn't as usual, but spent nearly all night on the throne!!
