We have managed this year to book a break of 3 nights or more once a month since Feb up to August. We are lucky that I work form home and hubby's job enables him to have a long weekend every 3 weeks.

I wondered how often everyone else uses their caravan and are we maybe using ours too much .... not that we would stop using it

We use ours Feb 2-3 nights

Easter 4 nights May for a week, June -a weekend, JUly August 5 weeks in France, Sept weekend, End sept/Oct 3 weeks France/Italy,  - that's about it apart from it being an extra bedroom on the drive some weekends. That's this year anyway.

About 60 nights a year usually. Hoping for more this year as we are on a seasonal pitch now.

Thats a good question.

When looking for our van I was amazed at the amount of people who are selling vans who had "given up on caravanning" after only two or three trips away. I know that the "we've only been away in it a couple of times" line can be used to try to sell a van but of a few of the examples I saw did look completely unused (albeit over-priced!).

I cant understand how you could spend £10-15k on a new caravan and then just use it a couple of times. Mind you, shouldn't complain as that means that there are a lot of great buys out there in the second hand market from which we've benefitted.

Used ours 15 times last year, will be less this year I think due to work commitments from OH, but we have been out 3 times so far and have at least another 6 trips planned.

Use ours all year, spent to much money on it to not get its use., Make sure you make the most of it,

I wish we could get away that often :(

We are hoping to use ours three out of four weekends and then a week at half term in May and a week in August just come back from a week at easter heres hoping

not as often as i would like to.

we go away all the bank holidays and at least 3/4 weeks in july august.

our last trip is usually the half term in october then it is put away until easter . i dont like the winter, dark nights, cold days,and feeling trapped inside the van,

if i could i would escape to spain or portugal for the winter .

We use ours in the school holidays, never do weekends away.

We go away at least 2 out of every 3 weekends, Summer /Winter rain,hail or shine.

73 nights away last year and we didnt pick the van up until end Feb.

 we use the van as much as possible. Last year we were away approx 110 nights, so far this yr we have been away 21 nights and lots more to come.
