We are looking to buy a new Coachman but have had a much lower price from Glossop than anywhere - then I read the unfavourable comments on here - who is best dealer in Yorkshire and is this Coachman 545 a good buy for the two of us and one large hairy dog?
You could try Lowdhams in gunthorpe, nottingham, not sure if they stock coachman's, but they have a wide choice of other makes. The sales staff are very helpful and after sales service is very good. The general manager keeps a close eye on things and is always willing to help deal with any problems.
We bought our Coachman from Glossop in Oct last year.
Straightforward and hassle free sale, quite pleasant infact!
We have had a few teething problems but have been sorted out really quickly in a very friendly manner.
I'd definitely buy from them again!
Chcichester caravans Birmingham - brilliant service but Russell has moved to the Bromsgrove branch so I guess the brill service may have gone with him.Wouldn't touch Glossop - search the threads on here.

Thanks for all the replies, will think about it for a bit longer - the reason I'm so cautious is that we have had a very bad experience with a motorhome dealer and after having mh's for 15 years are looking at switching to caravans.

We did exactly the same. Didn't take to motorhoming so went back to caravanning.
there is discover leisure BUT use a Credit card!!!! for the deposit...
NOOOOO!
Don't ever think the credit card will protect you! Thats the mistake we made! See my threads about my lost deposit, its what everyone thinks but you try getting it back and you will find out different!
We bought a new van from glossop, very good service and have been very pleased with them, we will be buying from them agian, you will never get all good comments about any dealer, you only seem to here the bad.
I've just been reading another thread about Glossop caravans!!!!
Zara, you really seem to have been lucky, but perhaps the fact that it was a new one might be the difference, you would expect selling a new one to be easy.
read plenty about good and happy peaple with 2nd hand ones to, also know plenty of people who have bought 2nd hand with no problems, trouble is people will always find faults with dealers. search any dealer and you will find unhappy customers, in anything from caravans to hairdryers. i do not think luck has anything to do with it they have been trading for a long time?
