We have had our secondhand Geist for a few months now and we are really pleased with it.  The build quality in our opinion is second to none.  We did a lot of research before buying this van and looked at lots of different vans and in our opinion you cant beat the Geist.

We like the look of the Geist Activ with the bedroom (kids area)  in the middle and the bid bathroom at the back

Love the layout and build quality, Like you would not buy another brittish van again once we have sold ours,.

I have had a Geist LV 550 for the last 4 years and I can guarantee they are very solidly built and wouldn't dream of going back to a (cardboard) Brittish van.

Go for it.....you won't regret it.

We have a Geist AK565 and love it. No major problems just the problems you could get on any vans - re fixed regulator etc.

Are you looking to buy new?

Hi, hope you have lots of fun in your new Geist! We have the one with two full size fixed bunks at rear plus another single which converts from small table and two seats.  It means our son and grandson can use this table to play on, do some drawing etc. while we still have plenty of room at the front for eating.  We have just had another fabulous few days away and love it more every time we use it.  I also keep looking to see if the owners club is up and running but no news so far.  Keep checking on Geist for life website - I'm sure it wont take too long (hopefully!).

Congratulations on your new van – hope you like it as much as we like ours, ours has the bunks beds but same re washroom.

The owners club is not operating at the moment, all there is the Geist FB  page.

Geist are planning to send survey to see what Geist owners want.

We have an Aktiv 495 - see gallery Images pictures. The bunk beds are solid as a rock and full size too. We sacraficed a little food prep area to allow our growing children to have full size and private bunk area to the rear of the van, We still wanted the central washroom area also so as not to have to disturb the children once they are asleep. We love the van and its suits our needs at the moment.

I had to strengthen the fron curved seat bases though as they appeared to be made of slightly less quality materials than those at the rear of the van?. The water outlet pipes are large bore all over so that works very well too.

We fitted a microwave oven at waist height in the wardrobe.

We love the van and its very stable on the road due to dampers and a long A frame.

I had to modify (sand paper down) an outlet pipe adaptor / joint as the one from the van appears to be an unusual size but this was a minor issue. We love the very large picture window and all round Swedish standard / high tog insulation (good for keeping cool in the summer and warm in the winter)

Hope this helps

Apparently Elite caravans imported 60 Aktiv 495s and they only had a few left when we bought ours last year so must be a few around!

We've got the XK565, and love it to bits!  Last year we spent over 3 months in it touring the East and South coast, and didn't want to go home.  I love the underfloor heating, wasn't convinced at first, but it really takes the chill off things, and the floor is lovely and warm to walk on.

The only gripe I have with it is the mysterious holes in the warm air pipes, which seem to result in lukewarm air trickling out, and the bathroom staying cold.  Anyone solved this problem? I have thought of taping them up??

I wouldn't recommend the XK565 to anyone tall who is thinking of sleeping on the fixed single beds, though. We don't have a problem as we are 5ft 7 and 5ft 8, but they are barely 6ft long in ours. (We have a 2006 model.)

Happy caravanning, fellow Geist owners!

will have to tell geist marketing we have started a little chat room of our own and see if they are interested the main reason seems there was not enough interest originally but if there is no proper site or club how is everybody suppose to keep in contact if we keep this going we might just hear from them ! so we are now 9 and hopefully the rest will come out of there hiding places and be counted come on you owners and interested parties lets hear from you dont be shy this could be the start of something interesting for all of us any more tips anyone ?? or suggestions please

There was a owners club, and there was a rally of 9 of us in 2008, to get things going support is needed from Geist. Once Claire at Geist marketing gets the survey out then hopefully things should move forward. Its going to ask what we all want, Geist have said they will set up website for owners but owners need to look after it.

So if you e-mail Geist and ask what’s happening it may help speed it all up and make sure thay have your details for their newsletter and the survey.

Do Geist go to the caravan show at the NEC?  We have an ACE Transtar 2006 but are looking to upgrade as our children are growing out of it, lol! I have read so many positive things and have the brochure at home and love the look of the AK565 as I think it ticks all our boxes.

If you see 2010 Hobby Prestige 720 UKFE twin axel 30ft caravan it may be mine.... it was stolen.
