Well its that time of the year when she who must be obeyed has to clean the outside of the van, has anyone any good tips for cleaning the green pollen off the roof?? or any good cheap products for making it easier
That green stuff ain't pollen, it's algae. I've found Fenwicks Caravan Cleaner makes light work of removing it.
Can anyone tell me how to bring back the gloss to the front GRP panel of my caravan? Five successive summers and winters have left it very flat and matt in it's appearance and whilst I can get it clean, the now matt finish isn't very nice looking.
I think someone, somewhere mentioned Fenwicks Bobby Dazzler for this. Am I right?
just for information I got a large 4ltr bottle of car shampoo/wax/polish stuff from asda brilliant and only cost around four shiny new pounds .fetches van up great with regular clean, its easier every time

see my last post, got all green off mine with this shampoo from asda and bit of elbow grease, next time no problems
'Somebody ought to invent a sort of car wash for caravans'
Exactly what I said at the weekend when we were both having fun washing the roof. Used a long extending brush that fits on the hose, and cheapie Tesco Car Wash.A lot of elbow grease and job done. Finished off with Bobby Dazzler, and it now has a bit more gleam to it.
hi all I give the caravan a coat of fenwicks overwintering before laying it up for the winter months, then fenwicks cleaner in the spring. bird droppings, algae, everything just wipes off.
all the best andy
------------- no day you learn something,is wasted
I was doing mine yesterday (using Fairy Liquid squirted down the inside of a long handled hose brush, which seemed to work quite well) but with so many stays in the forest parks it appears to have yellow sap marks on the roof and down one side. It has GRP sides so short of using T cut or similar has anyone any ideas how to "dissolve" these stains. Its going to take a lot of elbow grease I reckon.
