Is it just me or does this irratate the hell out of anyone else?

I have taught my kids not to walk over other peoples pitches.  Use the paths or the roads, but do not take short cuts over other peoples pitches.

So why do other peoples kids and the adults spend all day and evening shortcutting over my pitch?  I try and choose my pitch carefully to minimise this, but it seems impossible to stop.

I know it's not 'my' pitch and I'm not totally anti social, but it's just bad manners in my book.

What do others think?

Don't mind if folk go by quietly however if they're making a racket it can sometimes set the dogs off.  I think good manners would probably dictate though that it's best to stick to official paths.

as sgtzara says, it wouldnt bother me if it was people quietly walking across, its often led to a good chat with people on their way across LOL, but it would be a different matter if it was people running across and being a pain.

It's rule one of camping as far as I'm concerned - keep off other people's pitches. It's an invasion of what little privacy there is on a campsite.

Agree 100% i had words with an individual recently at Glencoe C&CC site who repeatably crossed my hardstanding pitch to go to the toilet block and stared into our porch awning everytime when we were eating .

I really don't understand what the problem is...i tell my H not to walk across pitches and we don't walk across pitches (unless we know them) but people often have walked across mine and i give a cheery hello..perhaps they want a nose in my beautiful Sydney..at Easter i had a few people walking past nosing in..i dont mind at all,,and ill even offer them a guided tour :)

It is same here it gets me mad so in the morning a put a windbreaker up beacuse the dog barks when they walk pass and look in, we are on a seasonal pitch and our next door neighbour everytime he walks passed he looks in and he has started to watch us in the awning  , so i have started to wave to him when he looks in the van i hope he gets the message.

As we tend to camp as a group, so it's not an issue - more a free for all lol

When we were seasonal, we had wind breaks from us and our neighbours (from the backs of our van), to stop peeps continently using the gap as a walkway (which is was not)

Not anti social at all, will chat to anyone - but don't want the world and his wife walking a foot from my door and staring in, their dog sniffing at my bbq or peeing up belongings etc

With the price of pitches these days - I've paid for my garden as well so keep offfffff    17

I see it as more a case of manner's

It's someone else's pitch so you should keep off. Would you walk through someone's garden?
