What are your thoughts on the above caravan and what sort of discounts could I expect from buying new from a dealer ?

Thanks very much.

Its great!! A nice lightweight small (for a 4 berth) caravan!

We have just brought one but not the GT version, ours is second hand, someone brought it but didn't like towing its only 6 mths old, just like brand new, but we saved quite a bit.

Not sure about discounts, we visited quite a few dealers, they just said prices will go up soon, due to vat, no body offered us a discount, I got the impression due to them selling like hot cakes they didn't need too? in the end saw ours on the net, 2 hrs away, so never asked for a discount just put diposit on over the phone before someone else brought it!

Hello,

We bought our GT60 460/4 in July and we love it. although it is slightly on the small side for 4 people-the microwave, fixed bed and electric flush loo are good.

Have you got a caravan to part exchange? This reduced our price considerably. To be honest though the prices will be increasing soon - but I certainly wouldn't pay full price.

Perhaps it's worth trying different dealerships - maybe 'casually' mention that somewhere else is offering you x, y & z ............

Good luck lol

I thought it was a bit small, and didn't like the shower/toilet set up. So bought the 510/4.

I guess you didn't want a fixed bed then!

No we didn't. The bed wasn't really big enough, as I'm over 6ft. Didn't like the idea of sleeping right next to the toilet, particularly if our grandson joins us. Besides we often go on sites with no facilities and a seperate toilet/shower/ washbasin is much better than trying to get into a toilet to shower(if you know what I mean) and having a plastic curtain sticking to your legs! Horses for courses of course!

Jeepster I see you have a GT 510/4. As I have stated on another post I am slowly being attracted to the same model for the same reason as you state above ie the larger better bathroom.
In your opinion do you think my Vauxhall Vectra 1.8 SRI (kerb weight 1400kg) would pull it ok. I have been on whattowcar and it does not have the GT models.
Thanks

I assume your 1.8 SRI is the petrol engine? If so, what is the BHP?
I tow with a Mondeo TDCI Estate 130 bhp which is ok. Your kerb weight is quite low for that caravan, so I would suggest a heavier more bhp car, but that's just my opinion. I like to be as safe as possible!

The kerb weight is 1400kg. The BHP of the vehicle is 140bhp which does surprise me as it doesnt seem that high. The MTPLM of the caravan is 1281kg.
I dont know !!
Ill have a word at the NEC and if its a bit dodgy then im afraid Ill have to put the caravan on hold and change my car first !!! :(

Be aware that a caravan salesman may not always be perfectly straight with you with regard to what your vehicle is capable of, as he is primarily geared up to sell you a caravan.

Have a look, and enter some details here!

The ordinary 510/4 is lighter but you may have to have a 2nd hand one as they only seem to do it in the GT60 now. Even so with 1400kg kerbweight and 1281 MTPLM its still only 91% when fully loaded.
