Hi, we are looking at buying a 2003 Compass Magnum. This will be our first Caravan after camping for many years in tents and TT's. Are these good vans, we are going to look at it next weekend if it's still available. Any adise will be helpful. Thanks
Hi, we have a 2007 Compass Magnum Classic 540 and love ours. It has a higher spec than the Omega 540 for the same year as they are a Mendip dealer special. Compass are/were part of the explorer group along with Elddis, Buccaneer and Explore. We have had a Buccaneer, Elddis and now the Compass and they are all great vans.
What model is it?

we sold our compass magnum last feb it was 5 years old. a 524, i loved it, it was a nice lay out pretty bathroom a petty van. i liked the kitchen area because it has a sink with drainer. we didnt have any problems with it .
We're going down to look at it at the weekend, fingers crossed for us please. Must admit I'm getting getting quite excited. I'll let you all know what happens.
We have a 2007 Magnum 544. Generally very pleased with it. My only gripe is I opened the locker under the fixed bed last week and found quite a bit of water in there. Now is this a design problem I have dried it out as best as I coiuld but need to wait untill summer. In fact I have booked it in for a service in march I might get them to look at it as I think it will be still under warranty. But water in a van scars the hell out of me.

We have got ourselves a lovely 'van. we went to look at it on Sunday on our way to Dartmouth for a few days; decided we would go for it and called back into the dealers on our way home yesterday to have another look and do the deal. Dealership seemed to be very upfront and honest and as they have a campsite there as well they said that when we picked up the 'van and they had given us the demo we could stay on the site for free for a couple of nights - cant get fairer than that we thought - and if we had any problems then they were on hand to help/give advise as necessary. Anyway we are very happy with our 'new' caravan and it being our first one we have a lot to learn. We aren't picking it up until January - which suits us fine with xmas coming quickly round the corner - as it gives us time to sort out bits and pieces that we need. Things we have thought of already are, Wheelock, Insurance, Cover for winter and Towing Mirrors. Any advise on which makes etc woould be very welcome. Can't wait for January now, I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve
Nice one glad you got it and welcome to the Magnum club!
Things to get....., waste and water carriers, security, stabilizer, bottle opener/cork screw (most important for beer and wine etc), BBQ... the list goes on.
