Sent all our extra heating appliances, oil filled radiators, fan heaters etc with our daughter back to her flat in Newcastle its really cold in the flat, returned after Christmas to black mould growing on her walls yuk!! .
A weekend for cuddling up in front of the fire me thinks!!!
Yep.Just the weather for staying in infront of the fire.Just watched the forecast and im afraid the north is going to get the worst of it today.
We won't escape it here in the Midlands either.

We were supposed to collect our first caravan on friday...the way the weather is looking I dont think we will be. Dont fancy towing the van in snow as we're new to towing
I think we will all just have to waite for the weather to change, we too are wanting to get away and now I`m retired we will get away as much as possible.
You would need a Micrometer to measure the amount of snow that has fallen here since the 22nd of December. It cannot be more than one eight of an inch.
It is just cold. Bloody cold. But atleast all the roads are completely clear.
Its really frustrating....only been in our caravan for one weekend in Nov. So desperate to go away again. We will all make up for it soon no doubt. Hopefully. Fingers crossed.
There is obviously an element of risk management regarding travel in bad weather. But is the weather that bad. As long as you can stick to main routes and you travel after 1030am (gives roads a chance to defrost) then you can still get away in the van.
This is boxing day, although the snow has gone, it was about -4 with ice on the roads - caution was required on site, but all main roads were clear.
The big advantage is that if you do get stuck, you van just nip back into the van, stick the heater on and have a cup of tea. I am new to caravanning but i am well used to snow and ice, i say get out there and enjoy it.
Can't wait for 23 Jan - Tredegar house CC, south wales - hope snow is still around.

Were supposed to be travelling via the tunnel on the 11Th and driving down to La Manga but the way things are at present I cant even get out of Scotland let alone get to Folkstone to catch the train and France is also affected badly so I think are travel plans will have to be put back a week
