we dont make up the double we use them as two singles. i cover them with two old thin sleeping bags with duvet covers over them. then on the top we have sleeping bags open with again duvet covers over them.
Hi Carris, our mattress topper rolls up into a sleeping bag carry bag which stows in the bed box along with 6 pillows, double sleeping bag rolls into its own canvas bag
which lives in the shower during the day and in transit it really just a matter of preference and space

I would have thought that these will 'move' underneath you while you're asleep. Are we the only ones that use a fitted mattress protector and a fitted sheet (from Jonic) and a kingsize duvet on top. Just like we do at home. It is a bit of a pain to make up and we used to make it up daily but now we leave the bed made up.
We also have the fitted mattress cover and sheet from Jonic but have now decided that putting them on every night is the only stressful part of the day (OH tends to get cross with the sheets for not doing what he wants then cross with me for trying to help!). We don't get on with sleeping bags and can't leave the bed made up all the time so are now thinking of getting a mattress topper, just a bit concerned about weight and storage.
We use two of the biggest single sleeping bags zipped together. They seem to be just the right size for the double when made up, and still enough space to wriggle and turn over!
We have a thin king sized duvet on the bottom, bought from Lidl or Aldi as I recall, which tucks in the cushions top and bottom and stops it moving. A good duvet on top and we're cosy even in the coldest weather. Both store easily and are lightweight.
