Hello,
we are members of the Caravan Club and just wondered if the C & C Club has more to offer? We feel that sites are limited in areas and the chance of getting booked at short notice is almost impossible! I'm sure this subject has been up alot, and if anyone can direct me to a link I would appreciate it.

i am a member of both clubs. the c&cc are easier to get in because you have to pay a deposit, the caravan club do always seem to be full but if you keep ringing ir trying they do get a lot of cancelations because they dont take deposits and people can cancel very easily.

otherwise the clubs are very much the same.

We are also members of both, have been for many years.

This gives you many more sites than membership of either club alone, to us a big plus.
With few exceptions we find the actual "quality" of the CC's sites to be that bit better but all are tolerable, some more that others.

Getting into C&CC sites has been noticeably easier as the CC have screwed up spontaneity with its no deposit, no show, no penalty culture coinciding with a large growth in membership.
The C&CCs temporary holiday sites and the week-end DA meets that are available without booking, for a basic field type site add considerably to the "available" options certainly at peak times. The CC have similar set-ups but these lack the freedom of zero notice of attendance, a feature we find inhibiting.

Given our level of investment in the van and tow vehicle we feel the small additional cost of "dual" membership is wholly justified.

we are members of both clubs for a few reasons.best reason i know of is you have more choice of where you want to go.second reason is you get your money back in one week of camping because you pay members price. do not know your age but if over 55 and not a peak period you get a concessionary price,this saves a lot of money if you camp a lot.plus with CCClub you get free nights too.

We also belong to both clubs but haven't used a C&CC site for a couple of years now. We find that CC sites are much better as we prefer hard standing pitches. The advantage of the C&CC is that you can book a particular type of pitch, ie hardstanding or grass, but pay a deposit - or with the CC take pot luck of pitches available on arrival and pay no only deposit. We do use the C&CC for insurance though.

We were in the CC for a year but didn't find we used any of the sites. Wherever we wanted to go, we always found a private site which suited us better. We didn't renew at they end of the year.

We have joined both we have used cc sites and are very good. The reason we joined c&cc was because they seem to have more overseas rallies.than cc. We are going to 2 rallies in spain next month and both sites are used also by cc.

Thank you all very much, think I will look into joining, we wanted to go to a a CC site in Devon but its fully booked , however they also take C&CC members and they have availability. CC at the top of the site & C&CC at the bottom of the site. Now wondering is the top of the site better or the bottom? I can only presume its down to the CC booking system - again!

Just a guess but is that Damage Barton? If so- top is no different from bottom, just the way it is laid out. Toilet block etc. is shared so exactly the same-good site we went about 3 years ago. This year we are going to Brook Lea CC site round the corner as we are tight- **ses & it is a fine for nine site!!

We have been members of the C&CC club for 40+ years and have found it provides all we need. Plus we get cheap rates being over 55 and half price membership being veteran members. The holiday sites are magic and very cheap.

We're in both clubs but do find C&CC sites easier to book - like someone else said, probably because you have to pay a £25 deposit so people won't book willy-nilly then cancel at the last minute.

Both clubs have pretty much paid for their own membership tho - insurance is thru C&CC & saved a fair amount against other quotes & our breakdown cover is thru CC & saved about £70 on same cover from RAC so being a member of both has it's perks.

But would you stay at a club (either club) site if you weren't a member when there are so many others around? I certainly wouldn't so I'm not saving anything by being a member.

I've been in the C&CC for a few years now and joined the CC but found it too expensive and not worth the extra.

Just to clarify, the over 55 concession is C&CC.
