question ?????
is it possible to change just the casting around the lock on an alko wheel lock, the reason being that we have just pxed our bailey (casting no 1)and our new caravan has a different wheel pattern it has no 23 stamped on the appropriate lock, looking at our existing lock the only thing that appears to separate the casting from the lock mechanism is a large circlip, and also alko are quoting £250 plus per new wheel lock.

You can buy a lozenge for your lock to go with your new wheel pattern, as far as I know, you have to remove the circlip holding the lock in the casting to change it. I'd advise you to call Al-Ko to find out the proper lozenge for your wheel. I've rang them several times over the years & always found them very helpful. If you're lucky, you may find the one you're after on Ebay. There's several on there from time to time.

You will probably only be able to get the complete unit so unless you have extra keys its not worth changing the lock over

But its worth asking

Please let us know what Alko say

It could be cheaper and easier to fit the Excalibur which Towsure do for about £100 and it has a receiver that can be used on either side as well as fitting the Alko receiver

I have one on the offside wheel as well as the Alko on the nearside

But you can mix and match with the Alko in the Excalibur receiver as well

There is a mistake on the Towsure site

The receiver is integral with the wheel chock and so is not extra

I bought just the lozenge and there is no need to dismantle it. It comes ready for you to put your existing barrel lock in. All you then do is call ALKO and change your registration details over to your new van.

PS I have an ALKO No1 Lozenge now sitting in my garage doing nothing.

We currently have a Bulldog axle lock which fits our Pageant S7 perfectly.  We hope it fits our Pegasus when it comes, as it is much easier to use than the Alko one.  you can even use it in the gap with the tyre valve.

I don't think that Alko will supply part of the "lozenge" as required by the OP

Yes they will if you give them the wheel design number!

    Hi Nigel

They will supply the lozenge but the OP wants to use his existing lock in a new lozenge casing

I doubt very much that Alko will supply just the outside rather than the complete unit with lock and key but excluding of course the wheel receiver

I'm not trying to turn this into a confrontation but I can't see just the casing on this list

    http://92.52.96.201/shop/acatalog/Security_Devices.html

The OP says that Alko are quoting £250 for the casting complete

    Hi John,

There is no confrontation - I don't do them.

I think I may have lost what is being asked here, Alko will supply the new insert to fit the new wheel, so his exisitng lock will still then fit his new van.  There is no need to purchase a new lock everythime you change vans.  At least that was my impression the last time I spoke with Alko - Or do I not understand the question

Agreed Nigel. I have just bought the lozenge from ALKO. The lozenge being the red bit that your existing barrel lock will fit. That is what I thought the OP was asking too. They dont advertise the fact John that they supply the casings only but they do.

P.S. Anyone need a Bailey Number 1 Lozenge as I now have a spare LOL

I thought it was strange too, but I rang them to enquire, and ordered the new lozenge there and then,£71 and £20 postage.  It now comes with a plastic cover  to prevent it damaging alloy wheels. I expect the price to vary slightly depending on the Lozenge itself.

As they are matched to the wheel (as we know!) they would have a limited market other than to keep it with the van and when I traded in the Senator Oklahoma they wanted it as it was original spec
