we have had two vans from dealers and both times had a run down on how it all works!!!
Take note on how the Heater works ..If using this weekend
Take your time to start with specially when hooking up
But no 1 tip .....DONT FORGET the BEER !!!!! and Glasses

We are also new to caravanning and picked up our new caravan a few weeks ago.
1 -Take a pen and paper with you to make a few notes.
2-Inform your car insurance and breakdown services that you are starting to tow before you collect your van.
3- Dont leave until you understand how everything works especially the heater. We had great fun trying to work it on our weekend away after collecting the van and even though we have read the manual several times it is still trial and error now!
4- Get some advice on levelling up and fitting the wheel locks - we didnt and struggled.
5- dont forget the car mirrors
We found that they were great at telling us how everything worked but didn't really go through what to do when you pitch up at the site i.e. levelling etc. They will hopefully run through everything and check the van fully with you so any snags will be picked up then. You will probably feel quite overwhelmed with all the information you are given and expected to remember but otherwise really enjoy it!!
We were soooo excited and love caravanning now.

My tip, would be to book a night at a caravan site close to the dealers ,,The dealer will show you how to work things ,heating ,water, lighting e.t.s Then if you find anything wrong ,or not shure on ,its only a short ride back to get some advice ,and little extras from the dealers that you may want ,,,,,wil want ,have a good time all wil be well and ,and enjoy it for many years ,to come ......brings it all back , best regards
------------- May the roof of your camper
never fall in ,and the couple inside ,never fall out,
