 The electronic box has been fitted behind the 2 drawers over the heater.

 Is this a place that will get hot when the heater is on. heat will cause damage to the the controller

The cables have been left hanging in loops secured by plastic cable ties. The cables are not secured in any way.

The cables must be properly secured, particularly in a caravan bouncing around whilst being towed.

I cannot see the lights on the electronic box without removing the drawers. I am not sure where the umbilical cord plugs into the box so I am not sure if it is accessible if needed, if I have a problem with wireless operation of the remote.

You must be able to access everything and see all controls and lights.

There are no rubber grommets on the holes where the cables access the battery box, correction there ia split grommet hanging on the wire inside the void below the electronic box.
There should be properly fitted grommets,

You are right to be be concerned and are not being over fussy.

In addition could someone advise me about the positions of the red plastic isolating key in the battery box for operation.
Operation is normally turn clockwise to switch ON and anti clockewise for OFF

Hi,

Mine is fitted to the floor underneath where yours has been fitted ( Senator Vermont ). The cables are looped and tie wraped at the back of the control box and the fuse link is tied in with this if I remember correct. I am an electrician and am sattisfied with the installation as all is secured with wraps and cannot move. The grommets should be fitted correct to avoid chaifing the cables. The cable remote connection is near the lights if I remember, so access is required. The key is on clockwise and will not come out when switched on. Also make sure you disconnect the EHU before using the remote to avoid serious damage.Hope this helps.

With the controller under the bed you need to be careful not to put bedding on top of it (the controller) as it does get hot in use.

The umbilical cord is also needed if the batteries in the remote go flat.
