Yes the title says it..... We ordered our new bailey GT60 at the show in October and we've finally got it yesterday!!!!!!!
I'm so happy and relieved it's here, after feeling we were being messed around we discussed whether to cancel it or not we thought we've waited 5 months we might as well another month and I'm so glad we didn't cancel.
We got the phone call that it had arrived at the dealers yesterday so finished work early and went straight for it.
After ringing nearly 30 ( yes I wrote them all down) sites that were full for this weekend I finally got a cancelation at haven mablethorpe. Not our usual site but hey I don't care , I'm in my new caravan on my holidays !!!!!! And I love the 'new' smell, I haven't even took all the plastic off the flooring yet!
So here I am sat having a drink posting this via my phone while the kids are in bed fast on. ( they absolutely love the bunks and couldn't wait to go to bed!!) the sites wet and muddy and it's freezing outside but I'm loving it here inside.
------------- Think this year is to follow old meet friends for 2014.
If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.
Pete.
Is it the 540/6? If it is then it's the same as ours. It was my dream caravan! I've been and seen the Olympus and Pegasus and loads of others at the NEC but not one is as lovely as the GT60 540/6. But if you hadn't have been in such a rush to collect her the Dealer normally takes all the plastic off and puts the carpets down for you lol!!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend away in her, though i know you will because she is just so perfect and wonderful and amazing and i could go on forever
We've got the 520/4 GT60. I must admit we prefer the ranger to the pageant, senator, pegasus and olympus. Somehow they seem more roomy even though they are narrower. All the cupboards seem to bulge out at you in the others. More cupboards than we know what to do with them, lightweight and incredilbly well equipped.
Have you managed to work out how everything works yet?
So so glad that the van finally arrived....bet you thought it was an April Fool when they said it was at the dealers-lol
Hope all the fears you had of not wanting the van when it finally arrived are long forgotten- i suspect they are-sounds like the kids are loving it already!
Have a fab weekend in Mablethorpe and don't worry bout the weather-if its any consolation it's chucking it down here in Barnsley anyway so you may as well be away in the rain (hopefully it isn't raining) rather than at home in it!
P.S i think i saw you in the beast of the car you have on Wednesday teatime up the back of the Town Hall.
Thanks everyone and we still loving it, we've gona around trying everything out today as the rains stopped and the suns been out!
Yes ashwellgirl it's a 540/6, even though there's only four of us it's just the layout we really loved. I can't believe how big the front bed actualy is made up.
The plastic is still on the flooring, it's a good job because it's a mud bath outside. The dealer took the plastics off but I'd asked themto leave the one on the floor, the weather forcast wasn't good so I'm glad I did now.
Thinking about putting a heating vent in the back bedroom as it's cooler in there but sweltering in the front. I've put a small fan heater in the back tonight though and it's lovely and cosy.
Usualy when camping my OH spends most of his time in the awning ( he says next best thing to his tent!) but last night he got settled inside and didn't even bother going into the awning.

Haha racntex it wasn't until I packed my laptop up at work that my collegue reminded me it was April fools day, my heart sank!
I bet you can't wait until you get yours.....have you any news or got any further??
It's that new smell you can't beat, it's lovely.
Oh my word it was me on Wednesday, I parked behind the townhall (OH works on westgate) I was on my way to the bank.
Not many people miss my car, it's suprising how many people comment to friends that they know the car, it does stand out, haha.
How did you guess it was mine? (the reg plate???) are you from Barnsley or just work there?
Keep us up to date on your caravans progress....fingers crossed it'll not be long and yes you do forget the troubles that's happened as soon as you're sat in with a drink in your hand.
We use a little electric radiator (from Tesco) in the bedroom which seems reasonably efficient. The quote ashwellgirl got for putting the air vent in their put us off investigating it any further!
Anyway, enjoy your 'van - I'm currently sat in ours in our back garden
Avctaylor, there's no doubt that if we wouldn't have got in at mablethorpe we would have been camping out on our drive in ours!!
The dealers quoted £60 over the phone to put the vent in but when we asked another salesman on thursday he said around £160!!! So if it turns out the be the dearer we won't bother. I've been thinking one of them radiators would be good as it's not an actual blast of heat. I'll have a look in tesco once I get home.
Just a quick question..... Do you use a normal single sheet on the bunk beds? I got some but they are big but I've tucked them under so to pull them tight. I've also seen that some people have bought memory foam matress toppers for the front bed, it seemed alright last night though we'll have to see.
Yes, we've used flat single sheets on the bunks. The girls are in sleeping bags with built-in-pillows on top of those so I'm not too worried if the sheets come loose.
I've been perfectly comfy on the big bed without a foam topper but I would like to get something to protect the cushions a bit better. I don't want to lose all my lovely storage during the daytime filling it up with a foam topper though!
I think the sheets will be fine then, they've got sleeping bags on top too.
I think we'll use the bottom bed for storage so that could be where I'd store one if I did buy one. We'll see how we get on for comfort but I know what you saying about keeping the cushions nice.
Thankyou for your reply.
