We got Alko wheel lock but  it came with the van.

Why would you not want to put a wheel clamp on a caravan? I admit it'll not stop the scum bags taking it, they took our last one & that had everything on it but it'll make your investment more secure & won't cost the earth.

Some insurance companies do give a discount if you fit the devices they specify, we have hitch lock, clamp and corner steady lock.

When it comes down to it, the thief is going to go for the easier option, and so is more likely to take a van with less devices to remove, than one thats going to be time consuming to get mobile, and light up like a Christmas tree whilst being towed with something like an alarm/tracking device combination.

Just because a van is on a secure site with CCTV doesnt mean that its not at risk of being stolen. There are plenty of profesional thieves out there who are capable of wiping a yard clean of several vans in a matter of mins, as some dealerships have found to their horror in the past, and its not just the financial loss of your van, its all the upset and loss of sentimental things that may have been inside it at the time.

We're insured with C&CC and with our old van (1999) only had a wheel clamp but no hitch lock.  They were fine with that.

With the new van we did think about going the whole hog & having a tracker fitted but then realised that we don't keep anything of personal value in there & everything else (van & contents) would be replaced under the insurance so we didn't bother.  The new one has alarm, hitch lock & wheel clamp.

We were given a Milenco wheel clamp which is great but very bulky and heavy.
I bought a cheaper one from Towsure which is much easier to use and does the same job.

I am insured with 'Insurance for holiday homes'. They are happy with a hitch lock or a wheel clamp.
