This awning came with the caravan when I bought it, Trio Sombrero Cabriola.
I have taken it out today, and OH, NO!, lots of poles, no instructions, I've never put up an awning in my life, I don't even know where to start!
I would greatly appreciate it if anyone has any instructions for this awning or something similar, especially explanation of which poles go where.
This may sound silly, but I have different types of poles:
1) rubber plung ended
2) pointed tip ended
3) hook ended
4) some of them have like a tripod in the end, I guess for the corner...
Also, some of them are wider than others...
Thank you

There we go !!!

Hi there could you try googling assembly instructions for Trio Sombrero Cabriola awning ? I know its a long shot but you never know. Not much help am I, but unless I could see the poles I don't know what to suggest. The pointed end ones will go to the front of the awning cos they will push into the ground to hold the awning up.

This may sound silly, but I have different types of poles:
1) rubber plung ended Don't know
2) pointed tip ended these are the uprights point to ground
3) hook ended these fit into an eye either on the van or on a pad on the canvass
4) some of them have like a tripod in the end, I guess for the corner...   these are the ones that the uprights fit into and the poles across the front
Also, some of them are wider than others... sounds like the previous owner has taken them all to pieces - the thicker one will have a locking screw in the open end, I can tell you that 4 will fit into 3. You will have some thick ones now with a reduced end with a sprung button these fit into the socket of the tripod bits, I'm now guessing you only have a smallish van and only 3 legs/uprights so 3 of the thicker poles will fit over the 2s (pointed ended ones), now depending on the awning length you will have the following left 2 thick poles with reduced ends, sprung button & locking screw, 2 thin poles with reduced end with sprung button these are for the front of the awning, but there may be an extra 2 thin poles with a sprung tongue on the end of the reduced bit these are extension pieces either the extension piece goes into the thick pole or if you don't have them the ones with the sprung button
Thank you

Putting up the awning: Unzip the panels and put the awning beading it through the awning rail and centralise it, hook the centre pole into the eye put the leg into the socket in the tripod (this is the one with the shallower angle) adjust out and lock off with the locking screw, now do the same with one of the ends put in the front poles between the end tripod and centre, do the same to other end Zip in the panels adjust the poles so the awning is taught then peg down the panels - you may have some very short pole with spikes sticking out of them - these would be for the fringy bit on the front of the awning

Rubber bit goes on ground to stop pole sinking into ground. Its like a rubber disc with a spike sticking out the bottom.

Are the pointed ended poles quite short, about 8inch to a foot? they go on top of the leg poles then through the awning at the top / front into the overhanging bit to hold that out.

OW, that's advice! thank you very much, this will make my life a lot easier!

I'll make a note of all this and give it another go, I'll let you know how I get on.

By the way, I have no pegs whatsoever. Would tent pegs do the job until I manage to get hold of proper awning pegs?

Depends what the tent pegs are like.  Some tent pegs that come bundled with tents are not much cop.  We use the red plastic ones or rock pegs (depending on the ground), or sometimes screw in pegs.  Essentially awning pegs and tent pegs are the same thing, but whether you take an awning or a tent, take good pegs.  Also if you are borrowing pegs from a tent, make sure you have enough pegs to put up the awning + plenty of spares.  I would certainly consider buying some spare.

Also try youtube for a video of putting up an awning . although you may not find the trio awning , they are all pretty similar to put up , will give you a rough idea if you've never done one before .
I have a trio sombrero caramba awning , if you are still stuck , I could get the poles out and photograph them tomorrow for you .
when you have worked them all out ,colour code them with insulation tapes .

Just remembered , my poles have numbers engraved on them ..... check if yours have , it will be much easier to identify them if they are numbered.

Well , a number 1 will have another number 1 that fits inside it , with an adjustable screw or spring button to join the two together , may even be 3 poles with a 1 on it that will form a complete pole .

mine have hooks on the poles for the roof , these fit into pads on the awning canvas .

the legs have a plastic spike in the bottom part of the pole .

I have 5 leg poles , but only 3 roof poles . the extra leg poles have a plastic plug in the end with a C shaped clamp which attaches to the front crossbar poles .(you may not have these extra legs , depends on awning size )

I will get them out in the garden tomorrow and photo them for you .

Got the poles out , they are not numbered 1 , 2 , 3 with engraved numbers I said last night. The previous owner has numbered them this way with tapes , sorry to confuse you.
the engraved numbers on mine are 3 digit numbers which dont mean anything unless you have the instruction diagram from trio.
