I've been the happy owner of my new van for four weeks now :) and she is ready for a wash, now the last van was 20 years old and I have to admit I wasn't really that careful and just used to slop a bucket of water and washing up liquid over her ( still never made much difference as she was a bit battle worn) but as my new van is shiny and White and glossy I don't want to damage her, so I'm going to buy some products today but don't know what's best so what does everyone else use and how.

I have no hesitation in recommending Fenwicks Caravan cleaner and Bobby Dazzler. We use a telescopic brush and a bucket and a chamois on the windows.

Fenwicks Caravan Cleaner followed by Fenwicks Bobby Dazzler is probably the most popular and does a good job. So why have you laft if four weeks to clean your new van??

I know lol I was in there yesterday wasn't I and looked at all the cleaning stuff but any excuse lol, I used to work with one of the girls there so we have a chat, even the guys in the workshop know me now lol, there is a job going to be available soon in the shop!!! Now do I need to change my job or would that be like a busmans holiday

I always use Autoglym's Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner to wash it with and when it wants a coat of polish I use their Super Resin polish followed by their Extra Gloss Protection. I also use the above on our cars. Regarding the windows I use their Fast Glass.

You're supposed to clean it once you get to the site...at least the front anyway.!!

We certainly dont clean ours on site, got better things to do. The front gets a swill if its bad, but thats all.

Really!! When I get to the site, set up fed the kid and the hubby walked the dog made the beds the last thng I would do is wash the van, I wiped it over at the front because the windows had got a bit travel dirty ( and I like to see out of them as I like to see what's going on) but I definatley wouldn't wash it on site , is this normal as I've never seen anyone wash their van . Well I won't be starting doing that but you learn somthing new everyday.

There are a number of us that have little alternative - that's why I use onedrywash - do just a tiny bit each day while the wife does the washing up ;-). See Dry Wash thread - don't wish to hi-jack this thread, when there is another thread that is discussing this. Some of us just find it difficult to bring the van home to wash, and no facilities at the storeage site.

Apparently its a normal site rule under an EU Directive that has to be obeyed. They sell buckets of elbow grease in site shops for the job. Many folks forget and in a panic do it during the night which is why you have not seen them doing it. Being EU Law many sites use Polish investigators to ensure that site rules are obeyed.

going to start a campaign for a dedicated cleaning area to wash the van for all caravan club sites.i am lucky to have the van at home to clean.
