Yep totally agree with you and when they come up with a design that suits us with a decent proper sized fixed bed that a six foot 4 inch person that isn't an amputee can sleep on in comfort then we might (only might mind you) buy one
Enjoy your weekend - wish we were out somewhere

Just thought I'd redress the balance with a more favorable subject title.
We love ours and have been problem free.
And think they represent great value for money.
Happy Bank Holiday weekend all.

Were on our 4th new Bailey , only ever had one minor problem with our previous 2007 Burgundy nowt much and the series 4 Moselle before that was problem free as was our Senator Oklahoma our first .
Got a Brilliant dealership just up the road and will order our next new van probably a Peggy in November this year for 2011 delivery
Our Burgundy goes in for its first service tomorrow and I don't envisage any problems. We have been really pleased with it.
The Series 7 had loads of extras included as standard including the extra 4" width. Strange that the the Olympus range has dropped this very popular layout.
Enjoyed the quip about the cut-off matress Rune Caster, maybe not very PC,.. but funny

I'm 6'4" and manage fine in our 6'3" Bailey fixed bed. I think its longer than they say.
Never actually found one to fit in yet - did try quite a lot and found them all around 6' - it was the island bed that we were trying mostly though as they had less of a cut off.
Perhaps to be fair my original comments could well apply to other makes of caravans as well although we only tried Bailey before getting our current van which has a full size king island bed in it. We have nosed at caravans since but not tried the beds.

Good stuff Wilkolad, glad to hear your a happy Bailey owner too.
Our Ranger 500/5 suits our needs very well and has been excellent. Only niggle I had was minor and dealt with Bailey direct who were more than pleased to help with a retrofit idea I had to solve my query, plus they supplied the few bits I needed, gratis.
Their support alone would encourage my considering another Bailey.
I'm with you 100%, we're on our second new Bailey. Both have been Pageant Provence. First a series 5, it wasn't problem free but sorted out with no problems. We sold it after it got stolen & recivered but never felt right afterwards & now we have a Series 7 Provence which is lovely & I hope will stay on the drive. We're very happy with the product & pleased to say we've got a very good dealer.
Love my Bailey too :) I do think that the Dealer is important in the satisfaction of your caravan. If a dealer is quick to solve a problem then that problem doesn't seem so big. If the dealer is crap then that little problem becomes a big problem.
Happy here too! I do agree that the dealer must make a lot of difference to individual cases though.
The only problem we had didn't exist until after our first trip away so we may have caused it (toilet flush problem), and it was cheerfully dealt with under warranty by the dealer.
The dealer has also answered many questions over the phone when we've become unstuck (including when we couldn't get unstuck as we forgot how to unhitch ) without making us sound like the muppets we've been!
Hey, I too loved my Pageant: it was well built, well finished and survived 3 kids and 2 growns ups for 5 years, alomost without blemish.
We're only objecting paying Baileys to be part of their development process. I love my Pegasus, it has a lovely feel, most part swork as well as any 'van I've ever had, and many parts work better, I just wished they had finished it before they sold me it
12 days and counting until we pick up Bailey no 3.
Other makes of van just don't have as good upper lockers. We don't travel light and in some vans we have checked out we would have to put food under the front beds (not ideal in our view).
Our first one had a major warranty claim, but it was sorted & we lost no touring so no issues.
Got out first bailey last month the dealer was brilliant never used this dealer before for caravans but always get my awning parts from them, trying the van out at the end of the month for a long weekend can't wait and the kids are actually looking forward to it as well.
