Oh no. It had to happen. Candle wax spilt on interior upholstery. Anyone had a similar mishap and how did you get it off. A few years at home we got some on the carpet and used an iron and brown paper to lift it out. Wondering if there are any other ways that people have tried and what kind of results everyone else has had. At the moment we look a mess :-(

TBH, I think that you have already identified the best way. I certainly know of none better. Use the brown paper, the iron and then something like a Stain Devil to remove any residue.

I thought so too. I have heard that there is some stuff you can spray to freeze it too. I feel a further search of the internet coming on....

Trouble is the stain left by the colour of the candle wax. An ordinary clear or white candle has completely gone with the accident I had only last year, and that was with an Iron and blotting paper. This was on an inner tent pod

Sorry , but I have to ask ...

Why do people use candles in caravans? let alone anywhere near the upholstery ?
I'm scared of the fire risk of using candles at home , let alone in a confined space like a caravan.

When we have had to use them in power cut, they are set in glass jars or holders on shelves or tables, window sill etc , and no way would I let anyone walk about with them dripping hot wax .

hi there using candles in our homes and our 2nd homes (caravan) is very romantic and relaxing plus saves on the electric, accidents do happen but at least it wasnt a bad one,

removing wax is easy ice cubes to freeze it up then crumble it up and remove lumpy bits, once this is done the next step is to iron with brown paper to remove the greese, then stain remover (vanish, vax stain remover ) and all will be ok,

good luck in removal of the wax, and keep using the candles just be bit more carefull next time,

CANDLE ARE LOVELY WHEN USED CORRECTLY

Wonder how that happened... Some bizarre sexual experiment maybe? I read that 60% of caravanners are swingers. It was on the internet, so it must be true"

if it was on the internet it must be true LOL

I guess I'm just not romantic enough . The flickering of the candlelight i find annoying and I hate the smell of them , even worse after they've been outed .

Thanks for the advice and encouragement everyone.

Should say the candle was in safe steady place when lit. Just once blown out and setting beds up it got knocked and slopped.

I wonder if that has something to do with the multiple adverts that claim you can 'sleep' 3 or 4, sometimes 5 in the massive beds?
