Hi all, this might sound like a really dumb question but I'm not sure if I have a charger fitted to my caravan. Whats the best way to find out?
I have a second lead (grey) to connect to the car but cant see any thing obvious screaming "im a charger"
Looking inside the caravan at the battery compartment I can see 2 leads going to the battery terminals. 1 is the main red/black lead and the other looks like small cables which i think then go to the voltage gauge.
I'm thinking I havnt got one but would like to know for sure so I can look into getting one.
------------- Enjoying caravanning, realising what an expensive hobby it is and spending the family’s inheritance before they can get their hands on it!
this may be silly but follow the leads from the battery these will lead you to the charger ( a WEE black or grey box). I think this year of Van will have one.
Kanno, i've followed the wires from the battery. The red and black leads split off, 1 pair goes to the fuse box and 1 pair goes back under the floor. Could the charger be bolted under the floor outside the caravan?

Ok, just been underneath the caravan where theres a plastic cover covering something. Theres a sticker on the side which reads
POWERPART
type PB8
Power supply 240v - 50hz
Could this be a charger?
that will be the charger , or at least the transformer part of it , there should be a switch inside the van somewhere to turn it on and off
Does your van have a wardrobe/storage closet over the axle, as my sted dads van (Lunar Clubman 1986) and ours (1994) have it in there, see if you can spot an old needle type voltmeter, I think the on/off switch might have a light bulb behind it that light's up one when switched on, dont know if most caravans are like this but worth having a look for.
