Bulldogs are usually highly rated in tests, I use purpleline nemesis wheelclamp and a saracen hitchlock.

I had a bulldog wheelclamp previously and it was a pain to fit, weighed a ton.

Not something you could take with you.

yes £100 sounds about right for the wheel clamp.QUOTE  wheel size when you order to prevent wrong size sent.ie some are for 13 inch some are 14 inch wheels.a good clamp can be on the heavy side.

If your new purchase has a receiver on its axle for the Al-Ko lock I'd go for that. It'll gain you a good discount on your insurance & I understand them to be among the best available. A visit to the al-Ko web site wil give you access to a video demonstration of this wheel lock.

Although we've got one, I'm not the biggest fan of the al-Ko hitch lock though, I'd ask your dealer which hitch lock he believes to be the best.

good point did not think of that one.must be better if you have the receiver fitted.

See the milenco lightweight types avoid those, The tyre can be deflated and slide the clamp off.

Probably OK to carry and use on site, Thats the problem with an old bulldog clamp i had years ago it was just too heavy and fiddly to use.

The Nemesis clamp is quite heavy and bulky but does come in 2 main pieces + the lock, Not 8 pieces or so my old one was.

We have the Nemesis. Althoguh heavy it is very well made.

A bit of a fiddle to put on but that is a good thing in my book as it is just as much of a fiddle to take it off.

Although the the application of a diamond tipped grinder will have any lock off in about 30secs anyway.

We've got the Al-Ko lock, and once we got the hang of remembering to line the wheel spokes up with the receiver, found it a piece of cake to use.

Although heavy, still much much lighter, and easier to use, than the Bulldog clamp we had before.

Al-Ko also do a hitchlock if you've got one of their stabilisers fitted - again, easy to use, fairly light, and although won't deter a determined thief are enough to hold them up which might be enough to save your van.

Thanks.  The quote I had didn't mention it either, but would be quite easy to remove the wheel otherwise.

Check the policy carefully, It may say a thatcham gold security device must be fitted.

If they really want your van they will get it though, Ive not seen anything that couldnt be overcome in a few minutes of quiet work with the right tools.

Want to know howto remove the nemesis? lol
