Sorry I havent been on but I have been measuring up our new caravan    shes a little oldre then we thought and shes acutly called an ABI Award twelve two   not 122 as i thought lol. I have put some pics on my flickers album as i cannot get them on here but if anyone esle can that would be great. she needed a good wash outside but has come up realy nice. shes had 2 small patches of damp that have been fixed  and has been well looked after.

the only down side is  there no mians hook up point anywere  there is a plate insaid saying  converter but its been taken out and she only runs of battery and gas. but If we do go to a sire with hook up  we could allways get a tent one to run anything big off. they gave us everything even mirrosrs that we had just bought and a stabelaiser  the only thing missing was the battery so thats next weeks shoping.

Hubbys spent to days washing and polishing her and we have had our dinner sat in her today on the drive. I have got a pile of fabrics here so will ake some quick covers and curtins for now but realy do her up over the winter. were going to play with thwe awning tomorrow

here the pics  oh there was a big metal thing we have found its realy heavy and we dont know what it is the bit that looks like a tread on a spet moves round so its no good for steping on

I cant get the link to work but if you click on my home page the caravan pics are in there  I hate trying to put photos on

Looks like a fold down step more suited to a motorhome.

Maybe someone bought it and realised it was too big.

It's easy Wendy - in your flickr album just click on a thumbnail pic to bring it up bigger, right click on that and select 'copy', then right click in your post on here and select 'paste'

Congratulations on getting her, she looks very well kept especailly inside - hope you have lots of fun with her.

I can't work out the metal thing either, could it have been a support for a solar panel on the ground outside the caravan?

Hi

The 'thing' looks rather like a leveller to me.  We had a similar (but not identical) one which was made by Dixon Bates (if you Google that you will probably find a picture).

If so, I'm guess that you have shown it the wrong way up.  I would imagine the side of the frame with the flat edges goes on the ground and then the wheel of the caravan rests in the other bit - against the treads.  There would have to be some means of raising the bit that the caravan wheel was in - is there a winding screw bit?

wendy, for electrics you have 2 options, as you said the tent extension lead that costs about £40 or hard wire the caravan properly removing all the existing 240v wiring and installing a proper battery charger. typical shopping list for doing the job right

http://www.thecaravanshop.co.uk/charging-systems/plug-in-systems/transformer/charger-unit-18a/prod_205.html charger/transformer

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/redirect.asp?redir=http://www.towsure.com/product/532-Caravan_Mains_Kit mains kit, would add a couple more sockets 1 for charger and 1 for fridge

http://www.thecaravanshop.co.uk/electrical-products/leads-adaptors/25-metre-extension-cable/prod_281.html mains cable

a decent sparky will be able to fit all that in 2 hours max, if you have a mate that is a sparky then try bribing him with a bottle of scotch

If it is a leavaler do we need it as it weighs about the same as a the awning.

we might get her wired up over the winter Alan aslong as nothing majour crops up when we try her out for now it will have to be a tent lead
