I thought I'd share the reply I've had from the company.  I'm about to order a couple,

Quote "The locks are supplied with instructions but to reassure you they are very easy to fit, this is how it is done.
As the originals are very brittle, with the knob removed and on a firm surface, give it a sharp tap with a hammer to crack it, but taking care not to distort the tube. Remove any remaining parts and the location pin with pliers or similar. Push on the new lock taking care to align the pin hole. Important. Be sure to insert the sliding rod before tapping in the new pin.
 
I hope this is sufficient to give you confidence with your purchase."

I fitted these the other day and it's really easy - see my post above for the instructions.  (They are more detailed in the packet)  Half an hour to dismantle, reassemble and refit a pair. 

Good quick service too

Little brackets are available from most caravan accossory stores.  The last I bought were about £3.50 each.  My originals were an offwhite colour but the replacements were black--you don't really notice!
