we dont as he died a few years back but i must of seen over 20 cats on sites, parrots, rabbits, and 2 ferrets, so if you think your cat will be ok take it with you,

We have friends in the Swift Owners Club that always take both their siamese cats with them to every rally they attend. There was a problem last year when one disappeared but, fortunately both had tracking devices in their collars (unbelievable but true) and the cat was found a day later, none the worse for wear

Seen lots of cat in caravans around sites we've been on. People take all kinds of pets away with them,take him with you he'll enjoy it .

Have seen camper's cats on site. Saw one that was wheeled around in a pushchair and with a sun shade on it!

The cat was grossly overweight unsurprisingly.

I've seen cats, a tortoise and caged birds on site as well as dogs.

We felt guilty the one and only time we didn't take the dogs with us.  They saw us loading up the 'van and then we took them to my mum's for the weekend because we were going to a theme park for the day.  They had a lovely weekend but really sulked when we got home:)

Take your cat and see how it goes, if it doesn't work out for you both at least you will have tried :)

We have always taken our cat with us. Like others have said she is not an outdoor cat and if she does get out she hides under the van,and loves to go for a walk around on a collar and lead but sometimes she is not happy travelling and and being part siamese she can be very loud at times

Why not take your pet, Especially if she is an indoor cat.

  We used to take the hamster with us, but didn't realise he was so noisey at night. Kind of forgot that they are nocturnal.Lo !!   l must admit that the cage was moved to the back of the car at night, But he was fine there.

I have also seen a rabbit wearing a harness being walked around the campsite.

We've seen a few on our travels and they always look happy, the owners exercise them on harnesses, it'd be a good idea to get him used to the harness before you go, cats can be like Houdini when they want to wriggle out of something, just remember to take poo bags and clean up after it, cats can also carry the same parasite as dogs that can cause blindness in people.

Also get it microchipped just in case it does decide to do a runner.

wonderful idea! was enchanted to see a cat languidly strolling past someone's tent at Prussia Cove site(cornwall) - I asked if it was the farmer's, but no,  they always take their cat with them.. It wasn't restrained in any way and apparently doesn't go that far as it's a house cat.. I'd never seen it done.. very cosy.

By the way - do you realise that yr wording 'strange question- but' has netted a fantastic readership!!
