Van has been checked today for the water, we have to have a new front and 2 new sides, but the work can not be started untill April so looks like no hoildays next year.
It only takes 2&half hours to make a complete caravan, so I would have thought that if they start repairing your 'van on April 2nd, the repairs should be complete by April 3rd

It might take 2 days to make a complete caravan but you can bet it'll take them all year to unmake one
------------- Caravanning is a way of getting a cheap holiday out of an expensive hobby
Once the caravan in the workshop being worked on, the actual work should not take more than a couple of days, so the op should be able to use their caravan in April.
Margaret - what reasons are you being given for the 6 month WAIT for repairs. That is unacceptable and I would be onto Bailey AND Trading Standards. You should name and shame the Dealer and find an alternative. Is the van still under warranty? How long have you owned the van, was it new or S/H?
If the supplying Dealer is unable or unwilling to do the repair then threaten to take it somewhere else and sue him for the costs if you think he is liable for the repair.

we have had the van fom new it is 4 years old. the dealer has not free space to fit us in until then.yes it is still under warranty.
Margaret
I dont believe that, what about the owners who wait till next march and want a service and a few repairs before the main season... a slot in september?
Methinks they want you to upgrade and not bother with the repair.
I really can't believe they cannot do anything before April, thats 5 months before they even do any thing with it!
That is totally unacceptable - not being able to use your 'van for 5 months! Unbeliebavle. Surely some arrangemnet could be made to have the work done by another Bailey delaer if they are so busy they have such a waiting list. I'd be furious, its just not acceptable to have your caravan out of action for so long just waiting to be repaired.
We are going to phone another dealer tomorrow to see if there can help us. if they can we will talk to Bailey as well. If we can not use the van it will be like our right arms been cut off us we use the van all the time.
You have to be strong and firm otherwise they will walk all over you. This is not the way a Dealer should treat a customer who has given him their business and MONEY.
Bailey should certainly be kept informed of this matter and the Dealers attitude which is unreasonable.
Margaret that's not good, it does take them quite a while to get the panels, but it's unreasonable to make you wait.
Ours went in for new front awning 2 rails and top seam and it was done in a few days. Had to wait three months but we didn't mind because unlike yours ours was useable. I don't feel the same about the van but got to keep it.
