Can anyone tell me why we still have the leg rolls on seats in caravans? I dont have them on seats in my house and I spend more time sitting there. Without them I would not have to change cushions around when bed making! I did have an Abbey a long time ago that did not have them.
I agree with you. Well I think it's because most caravan manufacturers are very conservative. Because they've always done it most buyers will expect it so they don't want to risk alienating them. Don't think the Stealth caravans have the knee roll which proves my point.

Must be a weird English tradition, as Continental caravans don't have them!
Very true! My theory is the majority of people purchasing caravans from new are stuck in a 1980's time warp consisting of shades of brown and velour. If you attend any of the shows you can hear them making the 'I don't like that' comments about anything that does not fit in with their view that all caravan upholstery should look the same as it did 20 or 30 years ago.

Both my first van (1972 Sprite) and current van (1995 Sprite) do not have leg rolls, and in each case they were original cushions.
Much easier when making up beds!

I took the kids away on my own at half term. I couldn't be bothered to turn all the seats over for the front bed (the back dinette doesn't have leg rolls) but found that if I had a couple of whisky's before bedtime I didn't notice and slept perfectly well!!
l,I can't understand why they haven't moved on and designed a van with some proper comfy sofas, there are a lot people with fixed beds that only need a two berth and will never need to make up the front bed.
