We've been down to Worcester to swap caravans this weekend. Changed our 2009 5 berth Coachman for a 2007 6 berth Compass. We're over the moon. We got a good deal that included cashback, still have a gorgeous van & found the most honest, trustworthy dealer on the planet!
He offers all his customers the chance to spend the night, at his expense, on the rally field next door to try everything out.
The van was set up, heating on & ready for us to put our things into when we arrived. Pulled the Coachman next to it to unload & then he moved it into his yard. He checked we were OK with everything before going home last night then came around again this morning to make sure everything was OK & we were OK hitching up.
The Compass is immaculate & spotless (at least it was until it poured down this morning & the field got a bit muddy!). We love it!
We reckon we have 2-3 years before DS(15) decides he doesn't want to come caravanning with us any more (already asking to stay home with his nearly-20yr old brother when we go for weekends). At that point we'll switch to a 4 berth & I know exactly where we'll buy it!!

May I ask if you were pleased with your Coachman, did it have any faults?
I ask because having owned a new coachman ourselves back in the mid 90s, if we ever were in a position to be able to afford an upgrade in the near future, then a coachman would be one make that we would consider.
Julia
Hi Julia, the Coachman was/is a fantastic van. We only had a couple of very minor niggles like the clock not working properly & kitchen tap coming loose. They were fixed straight away. It's a good, solid van.
Our reasons for changing were cost cutting/cash raising. We changed from a 3.2 Shogun to a 2.0 Passat & at 1590 kilos the Coachman was too heavy. The Compass is 140 kilos lighter & an 83% match for the Passat.
My only real gripe with the Coachman was the 'full' door. Our 1st van & the one we've just bought both have stable type doors - much better when you don't want to shut the door on the world but still need to keep the dogs in!
