Just had our Peggy in for its first service and a couple of minor warranty adjustments.
Had a call from the tech telling me the water pump was kaput due to frost. Can't be done under warranty so £89!
We drained the system as per the handbook but there must have been a bit in it. (No problems last year with same system on a Pageant). Yes it has been very cold!
The tech told me they had replaced several pumps so far-and expect to sell more parts when folk get their vans out!
They also checked the loo pump that is fine.
He suggested blowing down the tap to get all water out!
At that price I might take it out before overwintering!
But van all ready to go,excellent service from Cosford Cravans as usual!
Weather looks ok so may use it locally at he weekend before putting it away!
So check your water system folks or puddles may result!

Hi, I'm also finding a lot of water damaged on board pumps as the season gets under way, don't know about Baileys owner manual but the Swift manuals do have the draining instructions in them, when draning the system, remove the quick release fittings on both the inlet and out sides of the pump, place a shallow bowl under the pump inlet and outlet, then run the pump you will find the pump will expel roughly half of cup of water, it's this water freezing that do's the damage, running the pump dry for a minute will not damage it. This procedure should be carried out on any make of on-board pump. Also if your pump has a particle filter attached to the pump it's a good idea to remove this and drain as well, it will crack if frozen, may not leak but will affect the pump operation by drawing air.

Hi all, been down today ,after worrying about my pump, filled and vented the system all fine no leaks, but me being worrier , examined all around the water heater and pump, all fine, one thing ive never noticed there is a square part attached to the left of the pump, that had a clear see through section and was able to view the water being pumped through that section, any ideas why this would be see through, as i say no leaks and all worked fine.

I saw this device at the NEC, gets all the water out of the system after draindown. After having a cracked pipe myself I think it's a good idea, maybe just a tad on the expensive side.
