Hi
I have read all the posts on here on a search but can't find an answer so sorry will have to start yet another topic on toilets
Going alone this weekend for first time and basically the only thing that I haven't practiced (OH usually does it) is emptying the toilet. I can put the water and chemicals in but don't really know how to empty it.
Have looked on you tube for help but can't seem to find one much good.
Have any of you any helpful links please?
Thanks very much!!
Perhaps should have said its a thetford electric flush in a bailey indiana. also I notice when the cassette is removed there is a small amount of water with the pink flush in it just inside the floor toilet base. Is this normal? There are electric wires there so I don't fancy making my own electric seat - what a way to go

Can't help but watching with interest as I (yuk) need to do it this year too as we will be spending some school hols alone this year. I also looked on youtube and couldn't find any decent footage either.
close the toilet inside and then remove the cassette outside.carry to point of disposal and remove the yellow top and tip.flush out with water pipe and tip again.DO NOT shake the cassette as it can damage the float.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Same as above except press yellow button at the same time as emptying and tank will empty faster as for pink flush in cassette locker, cassette may need a new lip seal
Don't forget to wash out your cassette with water. Just a very gentle swirl around so that you don't damage the float inside. Its that float which registers with the loo to tell you when the cassette is full. If you don't have the light system to tell you when the loo is full put your hand in the cassette, from the loo, and if it is above the wrist its time to empty..... ok that bits a wind up!!
The pink stuff inside the cassette housing may be due to too fast a closure of the seal from the loo level simply splashing it all about when flushing. Listen till you have heard the pink stuff all run through and then close the seal.

Tip. When emptying place the yellow cap safely on the floor, do not put it on the wall next to the CDP. Because if you knock it and it falls in, its gone!
I watched some one do this he was not pleased, in fact what he said was the same word as the solid contents of the cassette.

A golden rule, when flushing the toilet with fresh water do not take the toilet to the drinking tap and fill it from there Always take a bottle of water with you to flush the toilet out.
They all have water on tap at the chemical disposal point............

Sorry, got to correct you there, no they don't. We rally a lot and 9 out of 10 sites just have a grid to tip your waste water down, hence the need to take a bottle of water with you to these sort of sites. Even some of the commercial sites don't have a tap in-situ.
Also invest in some disposable rubber gloves. Not a requirement but i wear them. I always remove the sliding cover off the lipseal, as i am likely to lose that on emptying.
