Does anyone have any experience of visiting sites with a pick up truck (in this case it will be a Navara ) with a standard ie not Hobby,LMC etc type caravan?
I see many sites say 'strictly no vans or commercial vehicles' and the Navara is classed a light commercial vehicle...
i would be inyerd in this thread aswell as were having to go from an estate car to a transit van to fit everything including my mobility scooter in. but we only have a 12ft caravan

I have a Navara and have asked campsites if they class it as a commercial vehicle, they said they don't, they told me they are referring to transit van type vehicles. Just to be sure I would check with your chosen campsite
when we go camping with the racers its not a problema and that when most of ours is done. I did think we might have a problem when we get a tranny van but needs must. we have to fit dogs scooter and anything else in the tranny as our little 2 berths got to be very carfull with weight in her. I am sure there will be plenty of sites we can go on and if they dont wnat us well we dont want to go lol

When we went to Alderstead Heath, there was a sign saying no commercial vehicles, however there were about 3 vans on site with caravans, looks like you just have to enquire in each case.
theres a site in strathyre which didnt seem to mind as there were loads of them there including ours and neighbours ,hubby was in construction as was the neighbouring caravan ,they shouldnt assume everyone is travellers etc if thats the only mode of transport, its amazing what you can get in the van as well !!!!!,im with hacksaw bob ,if the site doesnt take your mode of transport then its not one you maybe like to be on ,your money is the same as those with the posh cars
I was asked at the CCC site north of Scarborough to turn my trailer around so that the tailboard was facing the hedgerow because they said I was advertising a business it said"corpogreen esq dead horse and donkey buyer"Which obviously is a joke but he was quite adamant and took it seriously When I pointed out there was a firms 15 cwt van 2 pitches away I said why he hadn't asked him to bury his van he said he hadn't got shovel big enough. Was he kidding? cause he was, but he was so convincing I felt like going to another site

I've got a mitsubishi L200 that I bought purposefully for doubling up as a work and caravan towing vehicle, I've not got it sign written so I'm hoping that I don't encounter any probs getting on sites

Commercial Vehicles make brilliant tow vehicles. Unfortunately these are tainted with a certain fraternity which makes it somewhat of a bad idea.
They may make good towing vehicles but most caravan manufacturers won't extend their guarantees to them as the suspensions on them are too rigid.
